Howe Caverns

Howe Caverns' famous publicity photo, either the one or similar to the one that we recognized as children. This view, in fact--although from farther away--is pretty much what you see from the highway as you pass the area.

Howe far will you go? At Howe Caverns, you can take a cave tour (a magical journey that no one should miss), zipline, or even just peruse the gift shop or the attraction’s massive collection of ephemera from its past: ashtrays, bumper stickers, old postcards. Taste some cave-aged cheese (which is made by a local farmer) or sample the amazing fudge (made on premises). Sit on the porch in one of the rocking chairs and watch the day go by or pan for “gold.”

To explore it all, head over to http://howecaverns.com/ — to see what’s new (and there’s a lot!) read this press release, which also gives great background on the Caverns: http://howecaverns.com/news-and-events/news/howe-caverns-adventure-park-home-howe-caverns-and-howe-high-adventure

We are working with our wedding planner, Howe Caverns’ Anne-Marie Galasso, setting up a time to ensure that those guests who wish to take a tour or zipline will be able to do it comfortably before the wedding. We will let you know more when we firm everything up, which will be well before we send out the invitations in April.

Personally, if you do nothing else while you’re here (aside from the wedding), we’d recommend you tour the amazing subterranean world that is Howe Caverns. It even has a boat ride on an underground lake at its conclusion, and it’s not to be missed. We can guarantee a tour will be something you’ll remember for the rest of your life. For information on the Howe Caverns tours, visit here: http://howecaverns.com/tours-and-pricing.

In the meantime, if you want to learn more, there’s a great book on its history as an attraction written by a former Caverns tour guide: The Remarkable Howe Caverns Story, by Dana Cudmore. It’s well written and fun to read. You can pick it up here: http://amzn.com/1585672467. Prefer a video glimpse of the caves with your history? You can purchase their Video Tour on DVD here (or, if you live near me, come by my house and we’ll show it to you. We own it!) http://shop.howecaverns.com/DVD-Howe-Caverns.html
